The Kainga Ora Homes and Communities website is a good place to start when investigating KiwiSaver options but here is a summary.

KiwiSaver First Home Withdrawal - If you have been a member for three years, you may be able to withdraw all your contributions, your employer contributions, any returns and member tax credits. Further details here.

You must leave a minimum of $1,000 balance in your KiwiSaver after withdrawal.

KiwiSaver Home Start Grant- After three years of contributing, you may be eligible for this grant.  It equates to $1,000 per year up to a maximum of $5,000 if you are buying an existing home. If you are purchasing a new home, it is $2,000 per year up to a maximum of $10,000 per person.

If you are a couple, you can each receive up to $10,000 if purchasing existing or $20,000 if purchasing new. This subsidy doesn't affect your KiwiSaver balance.

There are some eligibility criteria, which we suggest you check out HERE.
